Editorial Guidelines & Verification Protocols
Standard Operating Procedures for News Room Daily Journalists & Contributors
1. Fact-Checking & Primary Sourcing
News Room Daily requires all published factual claims to be verified through at least two independent primary sources or directly authenticated public record filings (court dockets, statutory legislation, central bank announcements, or peer-reviewed journal papers).
Our journalists do not report rumors, unauthenticated social media claims, or anonymous digital tips without exhaustive independent corroboration. If information cannot be corroborated beyond reasonable doubt, it is not published.
2. Transparent Corrections Policy
When a substantive factual error occurs, News Room Daily corrects the public record promptly and visibly. We do not quietly overwrite history:
- Correction Notices: A prominent notice detailing the nature of the error and the accurate information is appended to the top or conclusion of the corrected article.
- Clarifications: If an article is factually accurate but lacks necessary context, a clarifying note is inserted to ensure complete fairness.
- Reporting Errors: Readers, subjects of reporting, or official representatives who identify inaccuracies are encouraged to contact our corrections desk at corrections@newsroomdaily.com.
3. Conflicts of Interest & Independence
Editorial staff members may not hold financial equity in companies they directly cover, accept gifts exceeding nominal value ($25), or participate in active political campaign advocacy.
4. Separation of Editorial & Advertising (AdSense Firewall)
News Room Daily maintains an absolute institutional wall between news reporting and commercial advertising.
Advertisers—including programmatic networks such as Google AdSense—have zero advance knowledge of, influence over, or input into the stories we pursue, our headlines, or editorial conclusions. All programmatic ad placements are visibly demarcated with “ADVERTISEMENT” headers in accordance with FTC regulations.
5. Anonymous Sourcing & Whistleblower Protection
Anonymous attribution is granted only when a source faces tangible risk of reprisal, legal jeopardy, or bodily harm, and when the information is of overwhelming public interest. The true identity of anonymous sources must be vetted by the Editor-in-Chief.
